Subject: possible bug with CdC/Sky Charts, can someone verify?
|
Hi, I've been using CdC for a number of years, but I am running into a wired problem and was wondering if someone could verify if this is a problem in general, or just with my program/setup? This seems related to the following coordinates I have entered: 44 35 57N 75 10 08W Time = UTC + -5 v 2.76 of the program under Win 2000. I keep getting a "Invalid floating point operation" when I hit the "z" (for zenith) key. What if anything am I doing wrong? Don't have this problem with other locations, so perhaps my coordinates are wrong? (Canton, NY) (I had decimal values which I converted to deg/min/sec) I looked at the bug reports on the CdC site, but didn't see anything that applies. If someone could try plugging in my values and post back wether they run into the same problem? thanks, Esmail

FWIW, I have access to a XP box too, and had this happen too. Probably not worth reporting since v3 is in the works (though this bug could make it to the next version too. I didn't see an easy way to report the bug, and didn't want to sign up for a group to do so).

Must be something to do with the 2.76 version.

I didn't know there was a version 3 in the works, that's good news, though other than this little bug I've had great use of the current version. Any idea when version 3 might be coming out?

No idea when the final version is coming out but here's the CdC 3 project page: http://www.ap-i.net/skychart/index.php It's a bit buggy as you may expect from beta software but it does look very nice. Can't wait for the "official" release.

Can't wait for the "official" release. Neat, thanks for the link. I see it's supposed to work with Linux too, great! Esmail
