About eight months ago my green laser from them pooped out one month out
of warranty. They replaced it hassle free.

Since they where sold to another company, I can't say how well they are.

Orion was purchased by Imaginova back in January 2005. Imaginova is the
same company that owns Starry Night, among other properties.

Ah. That would explain the ads, and the website's new science-wing. Thanks!

I don't know.

But I DO know, that about an hour ago or so, I sent them a third and final
message asking about their telescope rings...

The first two went unanswered...

The last message I sent them said, in effect, if you don't respond to THIS
one, don't expect to hear from me EVER in the future... This, from a long
term good customer...

Maybe this it the new, improved Orion...

To make sure credit is given where credit is due, Orion finally did get back
to me this afternoon. Not the answer I had hoped for, but at least they DID
finally get back with an answer. That's a little more like the Orion of
yore, even though they no longer carry what I was looking for...

I ordered one of their catalogues 2 weeks ago and still haven't
received it. When I've ordered one in the past it usually arrives
about 1 week later and I've ordered several times over the years.
I'll wait another 2 weeks before trying again just in case the mail is
slower for some reason or they are having some problems they are
(hopefully) working thru.

In the past, my experiences have all been extremely favorable. Can't
speak to the current regime but hopefully that (great) aspect of their
corporate culture hasn't gone by the wayside.

My dealings with Orion have been very good. I highly recommend them.
Now, that said, my dealings with them were previous to the buyout, and
I
havent bought anything from them since. From what I do know they have
set the bar
as far as CS goes.

Im curious, what would your problem be, and why arent you pleased with
the situation?
