Subject: anyone still using Sony f707 astrophotography and related questions
|
Hi, I have one and it's probably my first step into getting into astrophotography. I've ordered an adapter, hope it comes soon. Questions, setting timer or use external timer, I have to locate that old manual, but I was wonder what folks found successful for extended exposures. - Did you store images as tiff or jpg I have a 8" dob and recently purchase a nightrider. I working on the settings on the night rider yet. But some technical questions have come up and I was wondering which web site might help me calculate the effect on each parameter. Here goes the questions - I beleive that I would like to learn the relationship between earth rotation, scope parameters and CCD pixel parameters so that I may learn to estimate the optimal maximum exposure. which web site might cover that. It will be interesting to learn this and maybe I'll be able to teach my daughter's science class how these relate. - have a mac and pc. The mac is a laptop and if I can find software for processing the pictures on the mac it would be great.

Naively, I think that both f7x7 use the same adapter. the question then would be which eyepiece diameter. say more.
