Rosamond Report 8/2/06

After almost a week of high winds, this
night was a no wind night and a wensday
one too, so I headed for the corner.

With the moon being bright I set up before
dark and as night came on it was joined by
Jupiter. There must have been some magic
with the two of them together in the sky.
First guy didn't look but asked about that
hunk of rock that passed the Earth and is
suppost to come back to hit us some years
to come, I told him they where still tracking
it and being the time frame they have, that
IF it's shown to be heading back at us, they
will most likly have a prject to cheange it's
orbit.

Almost right after he left, 3 guys came out of
the foster freeze and made a beeline to the
scope, for almost an hour space and astronomy
was talked about between us. The oldest man
had never seen Echo pass overhead in the past
and didn't know that we have a super massive
Black Hole in the center of our galaxy.

After they left I had a rest time before a good
sized family showed up, I'd guess they covered
close to 50 years of time. They lined up and got
an eye full of the moon first and then Jupiter too.

My last guy for the night was someone who had stopped
back about 2 years ago when I had B8 set up, we had
a bit of a talk about space and such too. By the time
he left it was near 10pm and about 15 people had
seen the moon and jupiter via the Scope.

It was a gtood night for once.
