The intensity of poetry, even in its intuitive faith form is far more
intense than the great astronomical discipline which is why the
feebleminded and the intuitively bankrupt think it is astronomy is an
exercise in optics.

"My starlight, my moonlight, my midnight, my noonlight,
Unveil not, unveil not!"

"Poetry, even when apparently most fantastic, is always a revolt
against artifice, a revolt, in a sense, against actuality. It speaks of
what seems fantastic and unreal to those who have lost the simple
intuitions which are the test of reality; and, as it is often found at
war with its age, so it makes no account of history, which is fabled by
the daughters of memory, but sets store by every time less than the
pulsation of an artery, the time in which its intuitions start forth,
holding it equal in its period and value to six thousand years. No
doubt they are only men of letters who insist on the succession of
ages, and history or the denial of reality, for they are two names for
one thing, may be said to be that which deceives the whole world"

Those who detest the simple faith of men can never have a part in
astronomy no matter how many times they refer to themselves as
astronomers.,they are merely scavengers..

The energy in the text of James Joyce is the same energy that drove the
intuitive insights of the great astronomers, the working language of
the intuitive insights is affirmation of observations based on physical
and geometric considerations.Language that is complicated for no other
reason than pretension does not have that intuitive energy and most
likely is adopted by the feebleminded and the mediocre, such is the
Newtonian perversion of the Keplerian refinement of Copernican
heliocentricity and even the Ptolemaic antecedent astronomy.

The anti-poets of humanity, trying to oppose what can only be grasped
intuitively for such are the Juadeo-Christian texts, some more than
orhers. It is not possible to be an astronomer and have the necessary
intutive working principles which affirm or reject notions based on
physical considerations while trying to be non religious or issuing
pathetic mantras that satisfying others who know no better or are that
way inclined.

With those who use the intuitive faculties ,which amounts to the
intensity of faith, existence will always be rocky to say the least,it
promises no spiritual or material rewards apart from a chance to add
to the chain of existence in appreciating and passing on the efforts
of others while adding a creative facet to the bigger picture. Most
people already do this without knowing however the concepts of the
insincere or misguided invariably end in themselves or in the
conceptual junk of setpieces such as the 'universal law of
gravitation'.

"Novalis said of love that it is the Amen of the universe, and Mangan
can tell of the beauty of hate; and pure hate is as excellent as pure
love. -- love of sorrow for the sake of sorrow and despair and fearful
menaces-- but where their voice is a supreme entreaty to be borne with
forbearance seems only a little grace; and what is so courteous and so
patient as a great faith? "

All genius is learning to live with impatience for the dull and dreary
are patient for its own sake. The dull can wait out these appeals to
the greater intuitive faculties of humanity to peddle the same boring
celestial sphere cistern based on the ability to identify things
without any appreciation of scale or majesty.

The great well from which the great astronomers drew their insights is
still here for those who can drop their indrinated prejudices
against the intuitive faculties which generate the great insights and
works in astronomy, music art and literature. For me it is even simpler -

'Memorial I would have... a constant presence with those that love me.'

For such is Christ and Christianity.
