Haven't tried the Scenix. but have owned the Ultraview 10x50 for 5 yrs and are well pleased with them. They are excellent values having held up well thru may travels and use by kids. They aren't Fujinons or Nikon Superior E, but if you wanted them, these wouldn't be considered. You won't be anxious abusing or letting others use the UV either. see this review: http://www.weatherman.com/binocs.htm#3 peace, jon II "brucegooglegroups" <brucegooglegroups@hotmail.com > wrote in message news:1159372665.730552.218840@m73g2000cwd.googlegroups.com... > Any feedback on Orion Ultraview or Scenix 10X 50's appreciated. > > Thanks. > Bruce >

I used the binocular testing guidelines in http://skyandtelescope.com/howto/scopes/article_256_2.asp to assess their quality. The only negative was in testing the exit pupils using their guidelines. The exit pupils are uniformly bright to their edges, but there is a very slight square cutoff at the edges. Everything else is great. I am very pleased with them.
