Tin soldiers and Nixon's coming,
we're finally on our own
This summer I hear the drumming,
four dead in Ohio

Gotta get down to it soldiers are gunning us down
should've been done long ago
what if you knew her and found her dead on the ground
how can you run when you know?

I'm not sure who you are but NIXON was a war criminal only a little
less guilty than LBJ, Dean Rusk and Robert MacNamara. They should have
been tried for the murder of 50,000+ americans and several million
non-americans and I'll take that opinion to my grave.

I prowdly serverd during the South East Asian War Games 1964-1975. It
sucks getting the second prize ribbon. I even had the tee shirt. I
wore it till it fell apart.

There are lots of assholes out there in the world. I'd rather fight
for one of them intent on winning than for one intent on loosing. War
is terrible but it is worse if you go into it without intent.

I was just getting out when Kent State went down. Your post brought
back some real burried feelings.

Every one of my fellow officers in the USN believed we we loosing and
we never understood why so many good americans were being sent in as
canon fodder when it was obvious to anyone with an IQ above 70 that
the glorious LBJ and then NIXON and company had no intent on winning
shit.

I was 12 years old in 1971 and my best friend lost his older brother in 1971
in Vietnam.
All I saw was older guys dieing, FOR WHAT? A LIE by the government of the
USA about a communist country.
And the LIES are being retold today and no one cares.
You know ,Weapons of Mass Destruction no one can find.
We can win in a war in a Moslem country.
We are winning the war in Baghdad.
I 'm not saying there are not any JERKS out there in the world, there are
lots of them and now we are one of them too.

Yesterday a boy down the street came home in a bodybag, for what?
A LIE!
This hole thing makes me SICK...

While I never agreeded with Nam, I was sent there after being in the army
for close to two years in Germany, but I had read the why's we where there,
it all went back to a treaty we had singed. Ike sent the first ones there as
per the treaty and sorry to say we where locked into it via that treaty and
I was one of the lucky ones to get home and I saw enough over there to wish
that it was being done as a real war, not some sorry assed police action.
There is one woman actor who I will never watch anything of hers either, not
when she went to N.Vietnam, many of us wished she was in jail and not free,

I served in Vietnam 2/69 - 2/70 as an artillery forward observer. We were
winning when I left.

I *hate* Niel Young, and I'm Canadian.

Everytime he comes on the radio I yell out 'NO NIEL YOUNG!' and switch
the station.

Canadian content laws suck.

Seriously, "Patio Lanterns"!? Kim Mitchell once bumped me with his
elbow, in a crowded bar. I wanted to kick his butt, but mostly for
"Patio Lanterns."

Also

War. War never changes.

Hey, anyone in here ever look up? What did you see?

Reminds me of a story a friend told me. At the
time of the Cuban Missile Crisis, he was posted in
the Pentagon as a member of the 7th Data
Processing Unit (modern version of Custer's 7th
Cavalry, NOT).

One evening he and many others were in the post
(Ft. Meade) theater. The movie was stopped and
all were told to go to their posts followed by
"This announcement does not apply to women,
children and the 7th DPU".
