My Planet Vistas will show Mercury in real time as it transits a real
time SOHO image of the Sun on your Windows desktop background.

It's free:
http://www.skyhound.com/planetvistas.html

For best results, set it up to show Mercury only, and have Mercury set
to fill 1% of the view.

Clear skies,
Greg
