Subject: Low Profile QD 50mm Finder Bracket for C8?

I'm looking for a low profile mount for a 50mm finder on Celestron C8.
I have Celestron's QD mount, and it seems solid enough and works, but
for some reason they thought the finder needs to stick way out several
inches from the scope. I suppose I could get an acquaintance who has
access to a vertical mill take off a couple inches of unnecessary metal
and re-drill and tap it, but that seems like a long way to go.
I had access to an Antares (Synta?) mount, and initially liked the looks
of it, but found that the dovetail is stupidly designed and hopelessly
wobbly, so I have deemed that product to be unusable.
I've looked at Losmandy, but it looks like they took the tall route.
Who are the other players, and what are y'all using?
