Subject: Low Profile QD 50mm Finder Bracket for C8?
|
I'm looking for a low profile mount for a 50mm finder on Celestron C8. I have Celestron's QD mount, and it seems solid enough and works, but for some reason they thought the finder needs to stick way out several inches from the scope. I suppose I could get an acquaintance who has access to a vertical mill take off a couple inches of unnecessary metal and re-drill and tap it, but that seems like a long way to go. I had access to an Antares (Synta?) mount, and initially liked the looks of it, but found that the dovetail is stupidly designed and hopelessly wobbly, so I have deemed that product to be unusable. I've looked at Losmandy, but it looks like they took the tall route. Who are the other players, and what are y'all using? TIA
