Subject: I want to buy a telescope

I recently saw the moons of Jupiter in my spotting scope. Barely.
Is there a nice shop in the SE Los Angeles County/SW Orange County (near
Seal Beach, Calif) area where I could shop for a nice reflector? Used
would be acceptable.
I posted this in alt.astronomy but this ng was suggested as a better source
of information.

Ralph,
Check out Scope City in Costa Mesa (Bristol and Baker) or Oceanside
Photo and telescope (OPT) in Oceanside About an hour south of Seal
Beach.
Also check into the Orange County Astronomers (OCA) at
www.OCAstronomers.org.

That would be Oceanside Photo and Telescope. Their website is
http://www.optcorp.com. I've ordered from them before and they're
great.
I'd suggest an Orion Dobsonian reflector, depending on your needs and
budget.

Glad to see you made it up here, hope you've read the FAQ, but there is an
Orange co. astronomy group, maybe one of them will answer you too. Nearest
one I know of myself is down in Oceanside,Calif.

Oceanside Photo and Telescope is HUGE.
If you can't find it there, you won't find it in any store.
