Does anybody here know what would be the apparent brightness of Eris at perihelion (next time around 2250 AD, as I read on this group)? Thanks

It is currently at a distance of about 97 AU and has a brightness of magnitude 19. At perihelion its distance will be about 38 AU; that's 2.55 times closer, or about 42 times brighter. Roughly then, mag 15. _________________________________________________ Chris L Peterson Cloudbait Observatory http://www.cloudbait.com
