As of this hour nobody has posted this so I will:

The University of Iowa will hold a public memorial for Dr. James
VanAllen
at 3:00pm Sept 10 in the Hancher Auditorium. Parking will be available
in the
Hancher and adjacent lots. Family will attend to receive guests after
the
service.

This will give you approporiate news and funeral service information
links.
