Hi, we have update our website with a new section that pick up atmospheric
phenomena's images. The first two images concern a Ball Lightning and a
double rainbow with lightnins:

Ball lightning independent of a lightning stroke is suspicious...
However, from what I've read the "ball" can last for several seconds.

Would have been a nice image if the copyright info didn't spoil the view,
its as annoying as bird poop on the winshield!

The rainbow/lightning picture is stunning, if real.

The interpretation of the spots as being ball lightning require some
explaining. For instance, why the red/blue fringing on the lower/upper
edges. I'm thinking it's a tiny raindrop very close to the lens (if
not on it).

The color of the "ball" is also curious, being much the same as the
clouds. This implies a lighting effect rather than a lightening effect. :-)

I haven't a clue what ball lightening is all about, but I did see
something once during a nasty daytime thunderstorm in Ohio that I
couldn't explain in any other way. Basically, a large roundish glowing
ball went flying quickly overhead. It was like a meteor as seen in a
bad movie. The ceiling wasn't all that high so it was likely pretty
local, perhaps only a few hundred feet overhead. There was no sound
associated with it.

I've never heard a reasonable explaining for this thing that I saw, so I
call it ball lightening for lack of a better description.

I recall telling a local astronomer that I'd seen ball lightening and
she looked at me like she wondered what drugs I'd been using!

Clear skies,
Greg

German had a dream and American patented it. Italians are making sure
it doesn't happen to them :)

He is basically saying that the rest of the world is sick of americans
stealing their ideas and patenting/copyrighting them to make money...
