I had planed on setting up up at the corner tonight by 7:30, but there's
winds blowing up to 60mph at times, and unless those winds die down, home
I'll stay.

Odd thing going on now, we've got winds blowing thowards the west, these are
the Hot,Dry winds, BUT the cloud of smoke from the Day Fire which is to the
west of me, it going up and coming in towards the East now, which means
we'll get the edge of it too.

I noticed the same thing in the Santa Clarita Valley today, Dennis. Winds
were blowing from the northeast but Day Fire smoke was blowing *to* the
northeast. From west of the San Fernando Valley I could see a plume of
smoker rising from the Day Fire and going west, as expected, with the smoke
above it going east. Very, very weird.

While I was in the Santa Clarita Valley for a few hours two more small
fires started there.

I've gone out about once an hour or so and for the most part the AV area has
been overcast with the smoke, it had crossed this area and was aimed right
at Palm Springs from the look of it. Going to watch the neaer time machine
movie to see how it stacks up to the older 1950's one.
