Subject: Counterweights for 7/8" diameter shaft

Gang,

I'm looking for a 10 or 11 pound counterweight for a GEM with a shaft size
of 7/8" (.875" = 2.22cm) diameter.
Anybody know of a source? I'd rather not have to bore an existing weight to
that size, but will if I have to.

Anybody with a late model Meade (LXD75) or Celestron (CG-5) GEM have
counterweights for that size shaft?

Clear Dark Steady Skies,
Dave Jessie

Hi Dave:

The holes in the "standard" Celestron/Synta counterweights as used on
the CG5/EQ4 are about 7/8" in diameter or a hair bigger...

Thank you, Uncle Rod! That's exactly the news I was wanting to hear!
The thought of pouring molten lead into a coffee can wasn't very appealing,
I assure you.

You really DO know about more kinds of scopes than SCTs, don't you!
