Hope none of the BIG scopes on the island of Hawaii are broken in any way.

After this morning's earthquake, we have reports of networks to or in Hawaii
that are down, including www.hawaii.gov.

This does NOT surprise me at all! After all in 92 or 93 we had a total Oahu
Black Out and Hawaiian Elect. said it was a "Lighting Strike" that did it,
yet there was not a cloud in the sky over Oahu that day. A photo taken that
day showed a tree up in the middle of the island had fallen over landing
across the two 150,000kv lines. They crews that trim trees up there had not
been up there for over 8 months and had not trimmed the tree, a rain storm
two days before had losened the soil. That was the so called "Lighting
Strike", at the time I was a Handi-van driver, the office had to send out
cars with relay radios up to high points so we could keep the service going.
Not many riders that day at all.

The Grov. of Hawaii worrys more about T.Waves hitting than anything else
every happening.
