Its from the 1958 classic www.thespaceexplorers.com cartoon. I watched it

Just brought back memories for me when I found the website. I hadn't seen
mention of "The Space Explorers" anywhere for 45 years. I'll bet you
didn't know that Mike Tyson's former boxing manager Bill Cayton was the one
who financed and produced it either.... a little known tidbit I uncovered.
I know... I know... so what.

What netwwork carried the show? I was into space shows in the 60's.
Fireball XL5 was my favorite. Also some space cartoon with some professor
like
character too.

Dear Nasty Ed T...

I am afraid I don't quite understand your response from the standpoint of
"spamming." As an impressionable kid, this animated space cartoon had a
huge impact on my career choices. I thought others might like to see a
reference to it again since it was hard to find on the internet. It was a
very brief post. You certainly don't have to worry about me visiting this
NG again.

I've got you beat, while they used really OLD clips from old german films, I
watched and now have on tape the show funded by the U.S. Air Force, "Men in
Space".

I also remember the older and better Space Patrol of the early 1950's.

Dennis,

I think "Fireball" (Gerry Anderson) was shown nationally. During the
1960's, my family lived in Dallas and I would see Space Angel everytime
or nearly everytime we went home
to Boston for Thanksgiving and Summer vacations.

But...if you really liked Fireball you can buy it over the net, same
for Thunderbirds.

Became aquainted with Dr. Who in 1978 when I came home for Christmas
here in the Philly area.

New Dr. Who has been running on Sci Fi. Old Dr. Who isn't running
anymore here in Philly.

Remember the animated Star Trek?

Yep, watched them all, had their sound recorded until the flood wiped out my
tapes. Almsot ALL of the ones like fireball xl5, supercar, etc. where GA's,
they where the forrunners of such shows as Space 1999, UFO, etc.

Now, do you remember "Starlost"?

I can very vaguely remember "Space Ranger" from the early 50's, although
at that time I was more into "Ding Dong School." I do have a pair of
Space Ranger wings I've been wearing on my coat for the last 5 or 6
years.

When I was in Chicago, back in 1990, channel 11 aired a complete episode of
Dor Who every Sunday night.

The production's special effects were of course a joke compared to modern
sci-fi, but the scenarios were excellent. This one dor, Tom Baker was
very good at playing one of the dors.

I only got to see some Dr.Who when I lived in Hawaii in the 70's, I do have
the latest Dr.Who movie on tape.

I found out today that there WAS a show made that would have been the last
of the "Men in Space" named Flight to a Red Planet" but it was never shown
on t.v.

I've got photos of the "Arc" that was used for filming of the show, it was
almost lost but one guy saved it and he's slowly restoring it and making
some replacement parts to fix what was lost and/or damaged and it's a BIG
model too.
