I fail to grasp the point of doing this. You end up with images where
there is no relationship between the synthesized depth and physical
reality. Some of the images on your site show very little depth effect,
and others show painfully false effects, typically a galaxy or nebula
floating over a planar star field (in the case of galaxies, virtually
every star that is visible should be seen closer than the galaxy). Even
worse are the false stereograms produced from planetary images.

A good indication of just how un-physical this is comes from the fact
that the astronomical examples can be viewed either with parallel or
crossed eyes, and neither is consistently "better".
