Some would argue that it's a disgrace to religion, too. Certainly the
late Pope John Paul II, who acknowledged the reality of evolution, the
big bang, and (centuries belatedly) heliocentricity, would consider the
museum to be folly. (Presumably it's now up to Pope Benny to allow
exoplanets to exist, as JP2 neglected to apologize for Bruno. But i
digress.)

If it helps you feel better, Kent "Dr. Dino" Hovind's museum has been
shut down by the feds, and the good "Dr." himself has been arrested for
tax evasion (shame! see Mt 22:17-21) and other financial chicanery
(tsk, tsk! Lk 16:9). No creation museum is good, but we probably got a
good deal in the swap. Dr. Dino is a few fossils short of a skeleton,
and he's so loopy that he embarrasses *other* YECs!

Clear skies!

I am glad to see a museum that will display the creation model of origins.
It's about time. I respect the materials that AiG puts out. They point out
the poor assumptions behind much evolutionary evidence, while showing that
much of what we see in nature fits better with a creation model.

You fellas know a lot about amateur astronomy skills and equipment, and I
respect you for that, but I don't respect your sarcastic comments to
material and exibits you haven't even seen! Perhaps without meaning to, you
are becoming people like Paul describes in the first chapter of the Epistle
to the Romans:

(Rom 1:18 GNB) God's anger is revealed from heaven against all the sin and
evil of the people whose evil ways prevent the truth from being known.

(Rom 1:19 GNB) God punishes them, because what can be known about God is
plain to them, for God himself made it plain.

(Rom 1:20 GNB) Ever since God created the world, his invisible qualities,
both his eternal power and his divine nature, have been clearly seen; they
are perceived in the things that God has made. So those people have no
excuse at all!

(Rom 1:21 GNB) They know God, but they do not give him the honor that
belongs to him, nor do they thank him. Instead, their thoughts have become
complete nonsense, and their empty minds are filled with darkness.

(Rom 1:22 GNB) They say they are wise, but they are fools;

(Rom 1:23 GNB) instead of worshiping the immortal God, they worship images
made to look like mortals or birds or animals or reptiles.

The Grand Canyon is claimed by evolutionists to be the evidence of gradual
process and a fossil record, both supporting evolution; however, they
weren't there when it happened--they're just speculating at best. It could
instead be evidence for a massive, cataclismic event(s) over a very short
time, burying many life forms quickly enough under many feet of sediments,
enabling rock layers to form, and in them, fossils. We now know from events
like Mount Saint Helens that sediment layers can form very rapidly on the
order of days or weeks. And Mount Saint Helens is nothing compared to the
geologic processes implied in a worldwide flood that lasted over a year,
according to God and Noah, who were there.

You may mock creation and say it never happened. Apostle Peter prophesied
that people would do just that:

(2Pe 3:3 GNB Good News Bible) First of all, you must understand that in the
last days some people will appear whose lives are controlled by their own
lusts. They will make fun of you

(2Pe 3:4 GNB) and will ask, "He promised to come, didn't he? Where is he?
Our ancestors have already died, but everything is still the same as it was
since the creation of the world!"

(2Pe 3:5 GNB) They purposely ignore the fact that long ago God gave a
command, and the heavens and earth were created. The earth was formed out of
water and by water,

(2Pe 3:6 GNB) and it was also by water, the water of the flood, that the old
world was destroyed.

(2Pe 3:7 GNB) But the heavens and the earth that now exist are being
preserved by the same command of God, in order to be destroyed by fire. They
are being kept for the day when godless people will be judged and destroyed.

(2Pe 3:8 GNB) But do not forget one thing, my dear friends! There is no
difference in the Lord's sight between one day and a thousand years; to him
the two are the same.

(2Pe 3:9 GNB) The Lord is not slow to do what he has promised, as some
think. Instead, he is patient with you, because he does not want anyone to
be destroyed, but wants all to turn away from their sins.

Interestingly, Jesus claimed His return to Earth will be just as real and as
sudden as the flood of Noah's day:

Mat 24:37 The coming of the Son of Man will be like what happened in the
time of Noah.

Mat 24:38 In the days before the flood people ate and drank, men and women
married, up to the very day Noah went into the boat;

Mat 24:39 yet they did not realize what was happening until the flood came
and swept them all away. That is how it will be when the Son of Man comes.

Jesus says we should believe his claims about earthly events like creation
and the Flood, as well as heavenly things like sin and salvation and the
reality of heaven:

(Joh 3:11 GNB) I am telling you the truth: we speak of what we know and
report what we have seen, yet none of you is willing to accept our message.

(Joh 3:12 GNB) You do not believe me when I tell you about the things of
this world; how will you ever believe me, then, when I tell you about the
things of heaven?

I hope to see the AiG Creation museum someday, though it's difficult for me
to travel. Until then, I'll keep reading and looking up!

Sincerely, Steve

There are newsgroups for foolish people who don't know how to think, but
this isn't one of them. You should post your nonsense there.

I know a museum that displays a fairytale woods filled with teddy
bears. It does not make it a valid display of reality.

Indeed? Creation of course assumes an unknown, illogical and erratic
creator that does all sorts of weird things for its amusement. A
truly sadistic creator as well. In fact because one cannot dispute
any point in creationism the entire concept takes on a truly magical
quality - outside the realm of any critical thought or consideration
of practical humans.

What a petulant and infantile God. A so-called perfect entity that
cannot create perfect creations. Truly puzzling.

I have never met this God - so how could it make anything plain?

I have never seen any of these invisible qualities, eternal power or
divine nature - and I doubt anyone else ever has. Unless they have
been using some truly mind-bending chemicals.

Why should I honour the creation of other humans diseased minds?

Wisdom is easily discernable in its results - foolishness too. And
unfortunately the foolishness of religion by far outweighs its wisdom.

Anyone who worships an unknown entity, whether it be a mythical or
real entity, is a fool.

It is merely one of many such pieces of evidence - there are millions
more.

No - its examining the evidence, constructing hypotheses, testing them
and discarding those that do not fit the evidence and finally
concluding that from the evidence available a certain model fits best.

Hmmm, a non sequitur if I've ever seen one. Mount St Helens is
largely an example of local deposition - the Grand Canyon is largely
an example of massive erosion. Two entirely different processes.

He promised he'd come in his apostles lifetime - did he keep that
promise? Not without some real convoluted thought, no.

How come this perfect creator had to destroy his creation? Obviously
nowhere near as perfect as you postulate.

The right to die is the only right nature extends to humans. All other
rights are fictions, often more honoured in the breach than the compliance.

Yes, He's really a loving and caring "creator" (more so a conniving

Paradoxically it was these very phenomena that led humans to create
gods in the misguided belief that their sycophantic prayers and
worship would aid in the control of natural phenomena.

Absolute belief without solid facts? Sounds alot like global warming
