I am just curious! take a look at this product: http://www.astroshop.com.br/produto.asp?CodProd=07374 Why does one of the bracelets have a screw on top of it and the other has none? My telescope came like that and I thought it was missing the other screw. Now that I know that it comes with only one screw I have no idea what it is used for!

You can thread the screw into the tripod socket on the camera or you can put a ball head (from a camera store) on the tube ring and mount the camera on that. Piggyback shots are good for wide field shots using a regular camera and lens. Bud -- The night is just the shadow of the Earth.

That screw is part of the clamp down/screw down mechanism for both your ring mounts. It has nothing to do with mounting a camera.

It has nothing to do with mounting a camera. The clamp down screw is on the side, not the top. The screw on the top is for mounting a camera. At least, that is what mine is for. George

My scope has that same bolt and that is what it is for. Try seeing if the threads are the same as for mounting a dsl camera onto your scope. I strongly suspect that that is what it is. George
