I am just curious!

take a look at this product:
http://www.astroshop.com.br/produto.asp?CodProd=07374

Why does one of the bracelets have a screw on top of it and the other
has none?

My telescope came like that and I thought it was missing the other
screw. Now that I know that it comes with only one screw I have no
idea what it is used for!

You can use it to mount a camera for piggyback photography. You can
thread the screw into the tripod socket on the camera or you can put a
ball head (from a camera store) on the tube ring and mount the camera
on that. Piggyback shots are good for wide field shots using a
regular camera and lens.

That screw is part of the clamp down/screw down mechanism for both your ring
mounts. It has nothing to do with mounting a camera.

The clamp down screw is on the side, not the top. The screw on the top is
for mounting a camera. At least, that is what mine is for.

Yes, you're right! At first I didn't see it in the photo. Don't ask me why I
didn't..... The weird thing is that I have the same rings...

:-)

Glad to know that I haven't completely lost it. Yeah, it looks a lot like
mine as well.

I could be wrong, but that appears to be a camera mount. My scope has that
same bolt and that is what it is for. Try seeing if the threads are the
same as for mounting a dsl camera onto your scope. I strongly suspect that
that is what it is.
