Does anyone know a site that lists the best time of year for viewing
planets like Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn with maps showing you where
they are?

For Mars, oppostion date is around Christmas this year with Dec. 24th

Down load "stellarium", it shows a nice true simulation
of the current sky, and make finding things easy.
(Oh and it is free!!!)

Here's a nice list:

http://77illinois.homestead.com/files/astro/planets3.html

No maps, but the planets are easy to find, and any planetarium program
will give their positions.

it would depend on the year as they changer each year, sky & telescope
