Take away your telescopes and you would have nothing to do yet
considering the better part of Western astronomical insights, including
astronomical timekeeping, was accomplished long before telescopes
emerged on the scene,it can only highlight just what a counter-
productive nuisance you people really are.

The tent in the video representing constellational astrology sums up
that these people are fooling themselves and even though they could
have their magnification exercise as a complimentary facet of
astronomy, they truly believe that by virtue of optics that they are
'astronomers'.

My astronomical tradition remains in ruins due to the efforts of
constellational astrologers such as Flamsteed who wrongly imposed
celestial sphere geometry on heliocentric reasoning.I would not expect
anyone at these 'star parties' to know what is shocking about the
false structure created out of the Ra/Dec system but my goodness, only
the creationists who also have problems with the 24 hour day and
natural phenomena can be compared to what you believe, the difference
is that creationism is a minority doctrine while your empirical
doctrine is dominant.

Pocket protectors out, beer bellies in. Lots of fat guys with beards
- looks like a ZZ Top reunion. I bet they were so excited at seeing
M31 and M42 again for the millionth time that they forgot to shower.

Tell me something. How would the people at the star party have had to look
in order to meet your approval? Like you and those of your immediate age
bracket and all dressed like you and your friends?

Tell me something else. Unless you are a complete novice to the hobby,
what new and fresh things are you observing through your scope? Do you
have a telescope?

Tell me something else. What did you hope to accomplish with this flaming
post of yours? Do you know what flaming post is?

My favorite of the three that are up so far is "A trip to the observatory."

Can you imagine getting paid for having all that fun?
