Subject: Updated DSO and Lunar Observing Spreadsheets in Excel 2003
This is to announce updates to three Windows XP Excel 2003
spreadsheets and 3D VRML renderings of interest to amateur
astronomers:

Deep Sky Observing Planning Spreadsheet (org. July 2006, rev. May
2007)
http://members.csolutions.net/fisherka/astronote/plan/ObSpdht/ObSpdhtProject.html
Approx. 3100 DSO, stellar and dark sky objects that can be filtered
for current visibility. Update includes observing list entry
corrections, code corrections and revisions to misc. calculators.

3D Galaxy and Supergalactic Structure in Consolidated DSO Catalogue
(org. Feb. 2006, rev. May 2007)
http://members.csolutions.net/fisherka/astronote/Clarkxref/ClarkXrefProject.html
3D position renderings of 3100 DSO, stellar and dark sky objects in
VRML. Update revises VRML 3-D renderings due to incompatibility
between the Cortona VRML viewer and MS Internet Explorer 7.0.

Planetary Nebula Tour (org. Sep. 2005, rev. May 2007)
http://members.csolutions.net/fisherka/astronote/observed/PNTour3d/PNTTourProject.html
3D renderings of positions of approx. 50 planetary nebuale visible to
amateur class telescopes. Update revises VRML 3-D renderings due to
incompatibility between the Cortona VRML viewer and MS Internet
Explorer 7.0.

Lunar Observing Planning Spreadsheet (org. April 2006, rev. May 2007)
http://members.csolutions.net/fisherka/astronote/plan/MoonPlan/MoonSpdtProject.html
Approx. 2,800 lunar targets. Updates includes misc. catalogue
corrections, calculator corrections, and LPOD index update through
3/31/2007.

All of these amateur projects can be linked off my project page at:
http://members.csolutions.net/fisherka/FisherAstroProjects.html

None of the above spreadsheets have been tested under Windows Vista
editions. None will work on Excel for Mac editions.

Thanks, Ben, the encouragement helps. Now that I have a good handle on
what and when to point my telescope, I'm focusing on imaging this
year. - Kurt

Canopus,

Just visited your website and marveled at the depth of your
work in assimilating all this material. It's really wonderful
and I'm going to pass around some of these links to some
of my contacts.

I have been looking for some of this information for weeks
and it's right under my nose.

Keep up the good work.

Ben
