Subject: Mount for Meade LX90
|
Hi all, I had my RV broken into a couple years ago and my mount alt-az, was stolen for my little LX90. I am starting to get the tremors from not sky watching. :) I am on a tight budget (~$75) and would like to make new mount. Anyone have any ideas that would be inexpensive, sturdy, lightweight and somewhat portable? Better yet plans? My father can weld, so steel is plausible. Thanks all and take care,

It is still in the forks, I just don't have the base or tripod/mount. I was thinking maybe getting steel poles and drilling them for use with a bolt and cotter pin for leveling? If I go that route it will probably weigh 50 lbs. HAHA! In any case, if you have any ideas let me know. Thanks much.

The LX90 ain't that little and is not easily separated from its fork mount. Unk Rod
