Most UFO sightings are actually the Planet Venus.

I posted four images on the alt.binaries.pictures.astro news group related
to the conjunction as observed from the Cherry Springs Star Party. Needless
to say, with about 300 amateur astronomers on a remote mountaintop field,
the conjunction was a popular target for their telescopes while waiting for
full darkness.

Nice captures Steve. Excellent resolution of the two day
Moon.

Some kids were playing baseball in a vacant lot next door
when I intruded on them to show them the conjunction.
They were visibly impressed for several minutes before
returning to their game.

It was a sight to behold here in S. Alberta too. I introduced two women next
door and a neighbour to it and they were astonished looking through my 80mm
F7.5. I got a wack of pics of it too with the Canon A540
afocally.

I enjoyed the conjunction too with supercrisp skies just as the sun
was setting. Absolutely beautiful.

Taken with an Olympus C730Z in full zoom. Aside from cropping and a
slight gamma darkening, it's as it came out of the camera.
We had slightly hazy skies, with some true clouds here and there.
