Subject: Missing LX50 hand controller? Can the scope still work?

I seemed to have lost my hand controller for my 8" Meade LX50 during a
recent move. After my frustration settled the fear set in. Can this
scope work again? I know I can still observe through it, with
difficulty. But, can I buy a replacement? Or, does anyone think I can
still get a decent price for it without the controller (I was going to
sell it soon anyway)? Thanks for the help and any sympathy.

It seems that Meade is not selling the hand controller any more. So if
anyone out there has one for sale please contact me at, rdeol85 at

Contact Meade Instruments for a replacement hand paddle.
If they do not have any I have one I can sell you. But I am almost
certain that they can help you with a new one
