Subject: Did anybody observe this yesterday evening (20:10 UTC)?
Hi everybody,
I observed something strange yesterday evening what I have never seen.
Being outdoor, going to have a look at Venus and Saturn through my 10x50
binocular, I spotted a strange object at about 240 deg azimuth (west),
25 deg altitude.
It was even brighter than Venus, stable, without any movement for about
15 minutes.
My binocular revealed it is not a pin point - it surely had a diameter.
At about 20:10 UTC the object disintegrated into 3 visible parts,
falling down slowly. White trails remained.
There was nothing about 5 minutes later.

Did anybody else observe this yesterday evening?

What could it be?
Is there any web site where I can get more details about similar
observations and occurrences?
Thanks.
Roman

No, I did not see what you saw - but it reminds me very much of something I
saw a number of years ago over Palo Alto, California in mid-afternoon.
There was a clearly visible star-like object overhead, which remained long
enough for me to get binoculars - As I saw it disintegrate into several
pieces and disappear, my husband who did not have binoculars saw it just
gradually fade out. This was in the 1960s, long before there was such an
accumulation of space junk. It could have been a meteor breaking up, or
possibly some rocket testing - lots of aerospace activity in the Bay Area at
that time...

This is a perfect description of a high altitude balloon. You saw it
while it was still in the sunlight, and then you saw it rupture, with
the shards drifting down. Hundreds of these are launched every day. I've
not seen the white trails you mention. Maybe some sort of frost effect
due to atmospheric conditions?
