I've been trying to get a good colour image of the Moon for a while now.
Initially I tried using photos I already had but it didn't work so well.

I tried last month at first quarter but the images I got didn't work
very well either.

So I was pleased that this image of the Moon I took tonight worked so well!

This is processed using the methodology described at
http://www.atalaia.org/filipe/moon/colorofthemoon.htm - i.e. using a
desaturated original image as the luminance and a Gaussian blurred
colour saturated version for the colour.

The single frame image was taken at the prime focus of a 200mm f/6
Newtonian telescope.

Excellent work! Colors are very contrasty and the lunar
features well defined.

Thaks for posting,
