BK (Before Katrina) I had a book that described viewing the moon through a
28-day lunar cycle. As I recall, it was written by a Frenchman and
originally published in French. The idea was to observe the moon every day
from new moon to new moon. The book had a few pages devoted to each day of
the cycle, highlighting what would be seen along the terminator on that day,
plus other objects that would be readily visible on that day.

Could someone help me with the title of this book? Thanks.

That would be DISCOVER THE MOON. I own a copy, and have found it to be most
useful. I particularly like the duplicate maps for each day and on the fly
leafs, one for how it appears in a refractor, and one for reflectors. I've
found this feature to be very useful when used in collaboration with Rukl's
atlas.

Found it.

The book does not go through a 28-day cycle, instead, through a 14-day cycle
from new to full.

I son't have a French book, but I do have Exploring the Moon through
Binoculars by E. H. Cherrington (1969), which was reprinted by Dover
with the title Exploring the Moon through Binoculars and Small
Telescopes (1984). The Dover edition is still available new.
