Subject: B159 - Dark Nebula in Cygnus
Dear group,

With really good conditions now prevailing with the arrival of fall
and which should last for the next three months, I sat down last night
to pursue the dark nebula B159 in Cygnus. I have checked around the
internet and I could not find a single image of this nebula. As an
added bonus, we also have a very bright and impressive carbon star (75-
Cyg) within the same field of view (far left on my image).

For the result based on four hours total exposure (LRGB @
60:60:60:60), I kindly direct you to http://www.perseus.gr/Astro-DSO-Nebulae-Dark-B159.htm
.

I have a couple of Sharpless catalog entries in my mind for the next
two evenings starting tonight.

Clear skies!

Anthony.

Tom,

This is an excellent idea and suggestion. I do have a Clear filter
which is non-IR-blocking already mounted on the filter wheel. I also
have a deep red Baader filter as well.

Thanks for the feedback!!!

Anthony.

How far into the infra-red does your camera go? IIRC the extinction
is noticeably lower at 900nm than at 700nm; a frame with the IR-block
filter removed might well be interesting for looking deeper into the
dark.
